Roger Allison is an executive-level new business expert who has been the best kept secret under the hood of many successful sales and marketing organizations within companies such as GE, Siemens, MedAssets, MediClick, Sage, and QuadraMed. Mr. Allison has rare new business start up experience with a “starting pitcher” mentality adept at escalating sales performance of new or stagnant solutions and improving market positioning of misaligned products. His heritage was as a Top Gun performer selling complex IT (e.g., ERP, EMR, Supply Chain, Financials) applications with high-dollar ($250K - $5M) opportunities. Mr. Allison’s comprehensive knowledge of leading solution-centric sales (e.g., Value Selling, Solution Selling), marketing processes (Pragmatic Marketing certified) and sales tools (Sales Xcelerations) enable him to make CEOs look like champions by systemically creating cross-organizational market-driven cultures.
Mr. Allison established vertical markets for research firm, Meta Group, now owned by Gartner Group, where he provided advice to hundreds of firms (e.g., IBM, TRW, Sprint, McKesson, HP, Lawson Software, Microsoft, EDS) making mission critical decisions such as acquisitions, branding, market perception, sales strategy, competitive positioning and messaging. Armed with this discipline, he co-founded and served as the SVP of Business Development for a start up SaaS-based supply chain / eProcurement vendor where he developed and implemented its sales, marketing, branding, product launch and go-to-market strategies. Then, he launched a go-to-market strategy by instilling tactical partnerships, lead generation, sales disciplines and content for a NC-based IT startup enabling a $35M+ valuation. Mr. Allison leads Waypoint Growth Advisors mapping groundup or stagnant organizations with a growth-oriented course. Mr. Allison’s 35+ years of competitive positioning, go-to-market, business development and analytical experience combined with his unique brand of strategic thinking uniquely enabled him to consult multiple startups with steadfast sales, marketing, positioning and corporate guidance for many startups when founding Waypoint Growth Advisors. In 2018, due to his ability to create entrepreneurial jobs, he was asked by NC Congressional District 1 to run for US House of Representatives. Even though he had no prior experience as a politician his pragmatic communication converted 25000 new voters to the Republican party and district. The campaign outcome was a loss but the expereince was a learning curve for potential winnable campaigns in the future. Since the Congressional campaign, Mr. Allison has expanded into Real Estate as an investor (Waypoint Growth Investments), educator (Leave a Legacy Academy) and certified SC Realtor (Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices C Dan Joyner Realtors). He resides in Greenville, SC and enjoys buying/selling homes as well as sailing, attending ballgames and socializing with friends.
